Gift cards: top-up codes from your own balance
Your account now has a Gift cards section: issue top-up codes that start with your own label, from $1 to $500 and up to 100 at a time.
What it is
A gift card is a code that tops up an ApiMira balance. You pay for the cards from your own balance, the recipient enters the code in their account and the face value lands on their balance. Useful when you need to give an employee, a contractor or a client access without sharing your API key or paying for their requests from your own account.
How to issue cards
Open Gift cards in your account.
Choose the label for the code - 3 to 12 Latin letters and digits. It becomes the start of every code:
acme-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.Set the face value ($1 to $500) and the quantity (up to 100 cards at a time).
Check the total and confirm the batch.
Issuing requires a confirmed email. The total is debited from your balance straight away and the cards appear in the list in the same section.
What the section gives you
Counters: issued, redeemed, not redeemed, and the amount still sitting on unredeemed cards.
A list of cards with code, face value and status, plus search by code and a status filter.
CSV export: the whole list, or the file for a single batch.
How the recipient redeems a card
The recipient opens Billing in their account, enters the code in the top-up code field and gets the face value on their balance immediately. The code is accepted regardless of case, spaces and dashes - it can simply be pasted.
Good to know
Cards do not expire.
An issued card cannot be returned to your balance, and you cannot redeem your own card.
Both operations show up in the history: "Gift card purchase" on your side and "Gift card redemption" on the recipient's.
If you issue cards regularly and in large batches, write to support - there is a discount for that.
